The NAAFS made a successful return to Columbus, OH on Friday July 9th for Caged Vengeance 7. The NAAFS Nation at the Aladdin Shrine Center was treated to an action packed night of MMA action that changed the course of the National Amateur Series. With the home stretch of the 2010 National Amateur Season looming, fighters laid it all on the line for a chance at achieving championship dreams.

The main event saw Jeremy Myers (8-2) of Walker MMA knock off #1 ranked Isaiah “Beast” Chapman (4-1) of Rock Hard MMA by Split Decision.

It was a back and forth battle from the beginning, with each fighter alternating control throughout the fight.

When all was said and done, it was Jeremy Myers with his hand raised in victory as he soaked in the appreciation of the capacity crowd.

In the co-main event, Brandon Suber (9-2) of Walker MMA made an immediate statement, defeating #1 ranked Frankie Perez (7-2) of Team Ricardo Almeida by Split Decision.

It was a back and forth chess battle between two of the NAAFS’ elite National Amateur Lightweights, with Suber being able to stay one move ahead in the judges’ eyes and earn a Split Decision victory. The fans were treated to an epic encounter, which is what the NAAFS is all about.

Two of the top ranked fighters in the National Amateur Heavyweight division collided inside the NAAFS cage at Caged Vengeance 7 and when the dust cleared it was #4 ranked Nathan “Bamm Bamm” Bryant (7-2 ) defeating the previously unbeaten Travis “Too Tough” Tackett (4-1) by TKO at 2:25 of the final round.

These two Heavyweight athletes were not afraid to exchange punches, providing the NAAFS Nation with a thrilling stand up battle.

This win moves Bryant right back into the thick of the mix heading towards the home stretch of 2010.

H2O MMA’s Jason Cardillo (4-0) brought his winning ways to the NAAFS with a win over the previously unbeaten Chris Farrington (5-1) by Unanimous Decision in their National Amateur Featherweight division bout.

Columbus native “Gentle” Ben Cook improved to 5-0 with his Unanimous Decision win over #5 ranked Bhrandon “Bad Intentions” Poindexter (5-3) in their National Amateur Featherweight division fight.  The Columbus MMA prodigy used his amateur wrestling skills to control the fight and ultimately earn the victory on the judge’s scorecards.

The featured bouts opened with Clint Musselman (4-1) of PM Fight Club picking up his second win of the 2010 NAAFS Season, defeating hometown favorite “Hollywood” Dave Bray (2-1) by Split Decision.

This fight set the tone for the duration of the featured bouts, as it was about as evenly matched as one could ask for, with Musselman ultimately walking away the victor.

In Preliminary action, Matt “Mighty Mouse” Montgomery (3-1) of Team Titan defeated Franklin “Wolfman” Kidd (1-1) of DMI by Guillotine Choke at 2:30 into the first round of their National Amateur Bantamweight division fight.

In Middleweight action, Brad Orsbone (1-0) of Buckeye MMA submitted Brian “The Lion” Hilliard (0-1) of Team Rumble with a Guillotine Choke at 2:43 of the first round.

Already ranked #5, Clint Musser (3-0) continued to dominate his opposition with another Guillotine Choke victory, this time at 2:53 of the first round over Hakim Johnson (0-1) of DMI.

The win is Musser’s third of the year, the most of any competitor in the National Amateur Lightweight division.

Chad “MF Kodiak” Fields (1-0) of Relson Gracie Columbus made a successful MMA debut, defeating Chris Schandel (0-1) of Team Rumble by Head & Arm Choke at 32 seconds of the second round.

Corey Meeks (1-0) of Westerville, OH defeated Will Goslin (0-2) Guillotine Choke in just under a minute into the first round of their National Amateur Featherweight division fight.
