NAAFS to include Battle at the Blast in National Amateur Series
11/9/10 (Carbondale, Ill): The NAAFS is pleased to announce its new affiliation with Illinois based promoter Dirk Borgsmiller and his popular Battle at the Blast MMA series. Battle at the Blast 6 will take place this Saturday night at the Sports Blast complex in Carbondale, Ill. Over 30 fighters from six states will enter the cage November 13th including national prospects Adam Dunnavant (5-1) and Donald Harper (7-4) who are scheduled to fight at 135 lbs.
Battle at the Blast series competitors will be eligible for rankings during the 2011 NAAFS national series which kicks off in Ohio in January. “This will give an even wider pool of elite amateur fighters the opportunity to be noticed and earn recognition for their hard work and effort. Unlike professionals who can compete for financial gain, amateurs dont have that type of motivation. We feel the NAAFS amateur system fills that particular need and allows for amateurs to compete at a high level and in turn make a smoother transition to the professional ranks.” said NAAFS president Greg Kalikas.
