NAAFS Proving Grounds Results
12/13/10 (Cleveland, OH): The NAAFS kicked off its inaugural proving grounds series Saturday night at the Saddle Ridge Center in Cleveland. The Proving Grounds will be primarily a showcase of new amateurs breaking in to the NAAFS but will also feature some of the bigger names in the series as headliners.
Saturdays version saw 2009 national amateur champion Reggie Parks take on long time NAAFS veteran Chris Green in the main event. After making the drop to welterweight, Green defeated the previously unbeaten Nick Kilian just three weeks ago then continued his impressive run with a second round submission win over Parks with a rear naked choke.
Former Penn State wrestler Tyler Saltsman made it four in a row in the NAAFS with a unanimous decision win over Ray Yanez. Saltsman will no doubt be one of the fighters to watch in the 2011 NAAFS amateur series.
Lalani Malley continued her dominance in the NAAFS as she took out Nikita Netjes. Malley needed less then one round to put away Netjes via strikes and improve her record to 3-0.
CoDean Roff made a successful return to the NAAFS after over a year away from the sport. Roff evened his record at 6-6 after securing the finishing choke over Nick Taylor in the opening round.

Saltsman is just a good wrestler Thats all.. He got hit alot in the stand up game. Yanez is the better fighter saltsman is the better wrestler . It was a great fight I would like to see them fight again.

saltsman dominated ray. im pretty sure wrestling is the most important aspect in a fight, so how is ray the better fighter when saltsman dominated him? saltsman vs cody = saltsman
December 14th, 2010 at 4:35 pm
Ray beat him in the stand up. Saltsman didn’t do anything on the ground just lay on ray. Saltsman won I give him that it was a good win for him but ray is the better fighter . Saltsman will win alot of fights due to his wrestleing but he will need a stand up game because there are alot fighters that will stop his take down… It was a good fight between Saltsman and ray it was fight of the night I think..
December 14th, 2010 at 6:17 pm
yea saltsman only full mounted him, landed some good strikes to his face along with a double hammer fist and made his face bloody. there wasnt even a mark on saltsman. how did ray win the stand up, saltsman landed some hands and numerous thai kicks to his legs and body. why do you think the judges scored it a unanimous dec? it was a no brainer who the better fighter was.

Are we going to get an explanation as to this “SuperFight” title?
December 15th, 2010 at 7:51 am
What’s up with this SuperFight Title? It doesn’t make sense. Explanation please…
December 15th, 2010 at 8:36 am
The Superfight Title Belt is just a bonus award for some of the amateurs that have competed in the series for an extended period and have earned the chance to fight for something extra towards the end of their amateur careers. Both Green and Parks have had 10 plus amateur fights and many have been inside the NAAFS…on occasion we feel that type of commitment should be rewarded with a special opportunity. Superfight belts can not be defended for those wondering. Congratulations to Chris Green!

Every year we like to suck the testicles of “certain fighters” and felt this year this would be the best way possible. We never intended for Green to win but shit happens.
Thanks

seems like everybody loves to hate on chris green all u ever hear is he’s not any good he only fights bums all i gotta say is the kid is a class act and just beat 2 of the best ammys in the NAAFS he’s put alot of time in just like every other fighter so show a little respect
December 16th, 2010 at 8:39 am
I don’t think anyone was disrespecting Green….. he’s a tough dude. But do you think they made that match-up for him? I’d say no. Just one mans opinion.
December 16th, 2010 at 8:48 am
it seems that the move to strong style has been a bad choice for most. They have had a bad streak lately. Kenny Jackson, Frank Carraballo, John Hawk. I think they worry so much about there high profile fighters that takes away from the attention they need to win fights. Im sorry but showing up and kicking the shit out of each other is not going help you become a better fighter
December 16th, 2010 at 10:57 am
FYI chris green took this fight 10 days before hand. Soo this match was not jut for him. The NNAFS never gives him an easy win. He trains hard to win
December 16th, 2010 at 11:41 am
Ive never seen chris green fight but he seems like the real deal
December 16th, 2010 at 5:14 pm

December 16th, 2010 at 7:24 pm
is saltsman the real deal at 135 or is chapman going to pound him?
December 19th, 2010 at 10:10 pm
ive seen chapman and saltsman both fight and from what ive seen from both of em id say saltsman is def a worthy opponent
December 20th, 2010 at 1:33 pm
who wins this one? rumour has it they’re fighting in feb? thatll be awesome, chapman hasnt been beaten at 135 only when he fought up. saltsman has won as high as fighting up to 150. they’re clearly both not afraid of challenges. any predictions on this?
December 20th, 2010 at 10:13 pm

December 24th, 2010 at 1:13 pm
