NAAFS Proving Ground 3 Results
2/13/11 (Akron, OH): Lalani Malley made it three for three in the NAAFS (4-0 overall) as she defeated the very respected Amanda Wilcoxen-Morgan (6-2) in the nights main event. Malley escaped early trouble when Wilcoxen nearly had an armbar in place but the “Filipino Wrecking Machine” was able to escape and move on to a TKO victory in the second round when referee Chad Trukovich called the fight do to strikes.
Evolve MMA’s Corey Ruthsatz moved to 5-4 overall with an impressive outing against the more experienced KJ Hanna (Pain Headquarters) who dropped to 8-6 overall. Ruthsatz sunk in the finishing armbar at 2:48 of the second round and is certainly a fighter on the rise in the NAAFS national amateur featherweight series.
Long time NAAFS vet Terry Smith improved to 5-3 as he defeated Aaron Garrett (4-4) by unanimous decision in a heavyweight bout.
Mark Vanyos Cleveland based team (Vanyo Fight Team) had a good showing as a group going 2-1 on the night including wins by up and comers Troy Descenzo and Dave Lastafka who both improved to 2-0.
