Lozano Added – Complete CV9 Undercard released

3/15/11 (North Canton, OH): The NAAFS is pleased to announce that former NAAFS Middleweight Champion and current Bellator super star Chris “The Cleveland Assassin” Lozano (11-2) has officially been added to an already stacked Caged Vengeance 9 fight card set for the Canton Memorial Civic Center on April 16th.

After competing in Bellators historic main event on MTV 2 just over a week ago, Lozano returns home to face Edward O’Daniel (8-3) in a featured professional bout. Lozano, who is still under contract with Bellator, has been granted permission to fight for the NAAFS in April but is expected to return to the Bellator cage in July. O’Daniel comes in to this fight winning four of his last five bouts with his only defeat coming to current UFC standout Charlie Brennamen in January of 2009.

“Im thrilled to have Chris back in the NAAFS for this particular card. I know Midwest fans havent been able to see Chris fight in person since his last fight in the NAAFS against Jason Dent which was nearly a year ago and fans are eager to see Chris fight again. We are very appreciative to Sam Caplan and Bellator for allowing Chris to take part in this historic event for us.”said NAAFS president Greg Kalikas.

In other Caged Vengeance 9 news, top amateur prospect Cody “No Love” Garbrandt has been forced to withdraw due to injury. Garbrandt injured his knee while training in Illinois with Matt Hughes’ H.I.T. Squad in preparing for his fight with Tyler Saltsman. Garbrandts replacement will be NAAFS veteran and 2010 national semi-finalist Bhrandon Poindexter of Evolve MMA. Both Poindexter and Saltsman have expressed interest in facing each other thru various social network comments made by each fighter. Now they will get the opportunity to square off on of the biggest stages the NAAFS has to offer.

The NAAFS has also released the remaining undercard bouts for Caged Vengeance 9 in Canton. The updated Card is as follows:

  13. 13. bedo Said:

I think that Poindexter vs Saltsman has the perfect contrast of styles to be a barnburner from start to finish, whenever or however that finish comes depends on who is able to stick to “his fight” plan the most diligently, I initially was hatin on Saltsman because I thought he was getting props more for what he could potentially become than what he actually had done so far, but in taking on Bhrandon following a loss to Isiah Chapman, says a lil sumthin bout his belief in self,,,,I think BP is to advanced for him in the deep waters,,(I say poindexter gets it) but he’s probably gonna have to stretch Tyler out to do it, if not Saltsman by dec, I bet bp 3 galleyboys,,and tyler 2 primanti bros sandwiches both with everything on em, so I’m gonna eat regardless to who wins “Good Luck Guys Fight your Fight”
