4/5/11 (Akron, OH): The NAAFS LLC is pleased to announce its new partnership with Pronios Sports facility in Akron OH. After establishing itself as one of NE Ohio’s premier all around sports facilities with elite athletes from various sports calling Pronios home, the facility will now become one of three NE Ohio venues to host the popular NAAFS Proving Ground Series.

The all amateur Proving Ground series was established in 2010 by the NAAFS in order to showcase up and coming amateur fighters from across the Midwest. Fighters who perform well at Proving Ground series events will have the opportunity to move up to the NAAFS national TV series cards which feature the nations elite amateurs and many of the sports top professionals. Proving Ground events are currently held at “Chapparells Community Center” in Akron and “The Arena” in Streetsboro.

“With the addition of Pronios as a third venue for Proving Grounds, this gives the NAAFS and its fighters more flexibility” said NAAFS matchmaker Nichole Long. There’s so much great new talent in MMA right now, we could probably do a show every weekend and not be able to keep all of these talented fighters active.” Long went on to say.

The first scheduled Proving Grounds show at Pronios is set for Saturday April 30th, 2011 and will be the first of six scheduled events over the course of the next twelve months at Pronios. Doors open at 5PM and the action kicks off at 6:30 PM. Tickets start at just $25 for general admission and $35 for reserved cage-side seating. Tickets are available at Pronios Sports, by calling 330-608-6369 or at all Discount Drug Mart Locations. As a bonus to fans attending on April 30th, there will be a free showing of UFC 129 “St. Pierre vs Shields immediately following the show and parking attending this event will be FREE. Check back to NAAFS.tv for the full fight card and additional event information soon.
