Miocic on international MMA Radar
Written by Curt Heinrichs
4/7/11: NAAFS Heavyweight Contender Stipe Miocic (9-0) has been on the radar of MMA fans in Northeast Ohio for some time now, but his 9 stoppage victories in 9 career fights have gotten him noticed by a larger audience. Nationally renown MMA website BloodyElbow.com has been compiling a list of the top prospects fighting in each division, and Miocic was included on the list at the #5 spot for the Heavyweight division. Writer Leland Rolling broke down Stipe’s skill set and says “devastating knockout power, quick hands, solid wrestling ability, and a natural athleticism combine to make Miocic an overpowering force inside the cage.” The complete article can be found here.
Miocic will look to further climb the ranks in the Heavyweight division at the NAAFS’ Caged Vengeance 9 on April 16th when he takes on UFC veteran Chase Gormley (7-1) as part of the NAAFS Heavyweight Tournament. Miocic and Gormley join a star-studded card that is slated to feature 7 Professional Bouts, including a Welterweight Pro Series Title fight between Nick “The Savage” Duell (17-4-1) and Kevin Knabjian (9-5-1)*.
*All Bouts are subject to change.
Tickets for NAAFS Caged Vengeance 9 start at just $22 and are available at Ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-745-3000, at the Canton Civic Center box office, or all TicketMaster outlets. Caged Vengeance 9 is sponsored by B3 Enterprises, Mr. John P. Lennon, Intimidation Clothing, Tim Lally Chevrolet, Discount Drug Mart, the US Marines, Diamonds Mens Club, Skinvazion Tattoos, and the Ferrucio Law Firm.
