Jessica has since gone on to capture the Ring of Combat Women’s Bantamweight title, but plans to return to the NAAFS, where she has developed quite a strong following with her devastating ground and pound.

Aisling Daly is no stranger to fighting on the big stage, having competed for Bellator during Bellator’s 3rd season in a hard-fought battle with Lisa Ward. The remaining fights on the card will be announced as they become official including the finals of the highly anticipated NAAFS 4- man HW tournament, but some high-profile fights are in the works for Fight Nite in the Flats VII, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to witness the action first-hand.

Miocic on international MMA Radar

Posted by Administrator under Caged Vengeance 9 (6 Responds)

Written by Curt Heinrichs

4/7/11: NAAFS Heavyweight Contender Stipe Miocic (9-0) has been on the radar of MMA fans in Northeast Ohio for some time now, but his 9 stoppage victories in 9 career fights have gotten him noticed by a larger audience. Nationally renown MMA website BloodyElbow.com has been compiling a list of the top prospects fighting in each division, and Miocic was included on the list at the #5 spot for the Heavyweight division. Writer Leland Rolling broke down Stipe’s skill set and says “devastating knockout power, quick hands, solid wrestling ability, and a natural athleticism combine to make Miocic an overpowering force inside the cage.” The complete article can be found here.

Miocic will look to further climb the ranks in the Heavyweight division at the NAAFS’ Caged Vengeance 9 on April 16th when he takes on UFC veteran Chase Gormley (7-1) as part of the NAAFS Heavyweight Tournament. Miocic and Gormley join a star-studded card that is slated to feature 7 Professional Bouts, including a Welterweight Pro Series Title fight between Nick “The Savage” Duell (17-4-1) and Kevin Knabjian (9-5-1)*.

*All Bouts are subject to change.

Tickets for NAAFS Caged Vengeance 9 start at just $22 and are available at Ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-745-3000, at the Canton Civic Center box office, or all TicketMaster outlets. by Curt Heinrichs

4/5/11 (North Canton, OH): The North American Allied Fight Series is proud to announce one of the most highly-anticipated rematches of the year between two of its most popular stars. On May 21st, The Arena in Streetsboro, Ohio will play host to the exciting rematch between former NAAFS Pro Series Heavyweight Champion “Big” John Hawk (11-2-1) and Dan “Dragon” Spohn (13-4) in a battle for the vacant NAAFS Pro Series Light Heavyweight Title.

The pair met in August of 2010, with Spohn edging Hawk by decision, but both men have each beaten top contenders by stoppage since the August bout, and seem primed for a rematch with the NAAFS Light Heavyweight belt on the line.

Also featured on the Hawk vs. Spohn 2 Fight card is the NAAFS (and professional) debut of successful amateur fighter Adam “The Prototype” Milstead (10-2), who will be squaring off against 2-time NAAFS National Amateur Champion Dane Bonnigson (9-1). Both men will be looking to cement themselves at the top of the pecking order in the NAAFS Light Heavyweight Division with a win. Both men have a history of wins by stoppage, so this is bound to be a fight that you don’t want to miss.

The Hawk vs. Spohn 2 Fight Card is beginning to take shape, and more details will be released soon. Tickets for the May 21st event in Streetsboro, Ohio, will be available for purchase beginning this Friday, April 8th at the www.NAAFS.tv or at any Discount Drug Mart location. After establishing itself as one of NE Ohio’s premier all around sports facilities with elite athletes from various sports calling Pronios home, the facility will now become one of three NE Ohio venues to host the popular NAAFS Proving Ground Series.

Fighters who perform well at Proving Ground series events will have the opportunity to move up to the NAAFS national TV series cards which feature the nations elite amateurs and many of the sports top professionals. Proving Ground events are currently held at “Chapparells Community Center” in Akron and “The Arena” in Streetsboro.

“With the addition of Pronios as a third venue for Proving Grounds, this gives the NAAFS and its fighters more flexibility” said NAAFS matchmaker Nichole Long. There’s so much great new talent in MMA right now, we could probably do a show every weekend and not be able to keep all of these talented fighters active.” Long went on to say.
